Pro/ENGINEER
(Available for ADINA 8.1 and earlier versions)
We provide 2 modes of interface to
Pro/ENGINEER:
- Pro/ENGINEER geometry is converted to ADINA-M (Parasolid) geometry. The Parasolid
geometry is then imported into ADINA-AUI for finite element modeling. Mode 1 is available
on both PC Windows and Unix.
- ADINA-AUI accesses the Pro/ENGINEER geometry directly while creating the finite
element model using the Pro/ENGINEER geometry. Mode 2 is available only on Unix.
Mode 1 Interface - Advantages
- After conversion, the geometry can be modified in ADINA-AUI using
ADINA-M tools.
- Requires less resources during finite element modeling as Pro/ENGINEER does not
need to be running. Also, Pro/ENGINEER license is not tied up during modeling.
Mode 1 Interface - Disadvantage
- Conversion may fail for certain complicated Pro/ENGINEER geometry.
Mode 2 Interface - Advantage
- All Pro/ENGINEER geometry can be accessed.
Mode 2 Interface - Disadvantages
- Pro/ENGINEER geometry cannot be modified in ADINA-AUI.
- Requires more resources as both Pro/ENGINEER and ADINA-AUI need to be
active at the same time. Also, a Pro/ENGINEER license is tied up during
finite element modeling.
